Attention All Germaphobes!

Do you know how clean the dental instruments going into your mouth are?

When you go to the dentist, you expect to be treated with instruments that are 100% sterilized. Instruments that aren’t properly sterilized are hazardous and can lead to infection. At Advanced DDS, your health and safety is put first, so we make sure our sterilization process is as thorough as possible. We go above and beyond the standard protocols of ADA regulations.

Sterilization Steps:

1.       RED ZONE: Used instruments are waiting to be sterilized.

2.      HYDRIM washer: instruments are pre-washed --> washed --> rinsed --> dried.

3.       AUTOCLAVE: instruments are wrapped and placed here.

4.       The instruments are sterilized and ready to be used again.

In our office, we have an entire room designated for sterilization. When we place all used instruments in our HYDRIM washer, its special system uses rapid cycles to wash, rinse, and dry the tools at high temperatures. The HYDRIM washer uses a chemical called HIP that removes 99.9% of chemicals and bacteria. After being washed, the instruments are then wrapped and put in an autoclave. The autoclave uses high pressure saturated steam at 121C to sterilize the instruments.

This process is used after every single use of all of our dental instruments. Not all dental offices use a powerful washer like HYDRIM. Instead they may scrub their instruments by hand, which is not as efficient. Advanced DDS is here to provide you and your family with the highest quality of care.
